1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Device.AI’s website, API, detection script, or any related services (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). The Service is operated by Technetwork 2 LLC dba ai.ventures (“Company,” “we,” “us”).

If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

Device.AI provides a device intelligence and bot detection API. The Service includes:

  • A client-side detection script (detect.js) that collects browser and device signals
  • A verification API (/v1/verify) that scores devices on a 0.0–1.0 trust scale
  • API key generation and management
  • Usage analytics and a developer dashboard
  • Documentation and integration guides

3. API Keys and Accounts

3.1 Key Generation

API keys are generated instantly with no signup required for the free tier. Each API key is unique, cryptographically generated, and tied to specific rate limits based on your plan.

3.2 Key Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your API keys. Do not share your keys publicly, commit them to public repositories, or embed them in client-side code except through our official detection script. If you believe a key has been compromised, generate a new one immediately.

3.3 Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to collect personal data about end users beyond what is necessary for bot detection
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of our detection algorithms
  • Use the Service for surveillance, tracking, or profiling individual users across websites
  • Circumvent rate limits or generate excessive API keys to avoid plan restrictions
  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Resell or redistribute access to the Service without our written consent

4. Service Plans and Pricing

4.1 Free Tier

The free tier includes 1,000 verifications per day (resetting daily at midnight UTC) with no credit card or email required. Free tier keys are subject to rate limiting and will receive HTTP 429 responses when the daily limit is exceeded.

4.2 Paid Plans

Paid plans (Pro, Business, Scale) are billed monthly via Stripe. Prices are listed on our pricing page and may change with 30 days’ notice. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period.

4.3 Refunds

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans. After 14 days, subscriptions are non-refundable but may be cancelled at any time to prevent future charges.

5. Service Level

5.1 Availability

We aim for 99.9% API uptime. However, the Service is provided “as is” and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance when possible.

5.2 Accuracy

Bot detection is probabilistic by nature. While we strive for high accuracy, we do not guarantee that every bot will be detected or that no legitimate users will be incorrectly flagged. You are responsible for setting appropriate score thresholds for your use case.

5.3 Response Time

API responses typically complete within 200ms. We target sub-100ms p50 latency but do not guarantee specific response times.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including our detection algorithms, scoring models, API design, documentation, and website content, is owned by Technetwork 2 LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You retain ownership of your application code and data. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms and your selected plan.

7. Data Processing

When you use Device.AI to verify visitors on your website, you act as the data controller and we act as a data processor for the device signals collected. You are responsible for:

  • Disclosing the use of Device.AI in your own privacy policy
  • Obtaining any necessary consent from your end users where required by applicable law
  • Ensuring your use of verification results complies with applicable data protection regulations

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Company from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or for any reason with 30 days’ notice. You may stop using the Service at any time by discontinuing use of your API keys.

Upon termination, your API keys will be deactivated. Verification event data associated with your keys will be deleted according to our standard retention policy.

11. Modifications

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email (for paid users) or posted on this page. Continued use of the Service after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.
